What is Dry-cleaning?
Dry-cleaning uses a liquid solvent (not water) to remove soil and stains from fabric. In fact, the term "dry-cleaning" is misleading; it is called dry-cleaning because the fluid contains essentially no water and does not penetrate the fibers as water does.

Among the advantages of dry-cleaning is its ability to dissolve greases and oils in a way that water cannot. Dry-cleaning helps to return garments to a "like-new" condition using precautions to minimize shrinkage, loss of color, and fabric distortion.

The dry-cleaning process begins with the pretreatment of spots and stains using special cleaning agents. The garments are placed into a machine resembling an oversized front-loading home washer and then actually submerged and rotated in the solvent.

What is Wet cleaning?
Wet cleaning can be compared to handwashing. We start with the pretreatment of spots and stains using special cleaning agents. Wet cleaning is the process of removing soils from garments and other textile items through the use of water and additives (such as special detergents, sizing and conditioners) and using precautions to prevent shrinkage, loss of color, and fabric distortion.

What is Laundering?
Special detergents, additives, and finishes sets commercial laundering apart from home laundering. This process enables your cleaner to offer consistent quality shirts at reasonable prices.

Shrinkage (SHIRT and PANT SHRINKAGE)
Cotton and cotton/polyester shirts and pants will shrink over their lifetime.  1% to 3% shrinkage is normal according to the cotton industry.  One half inch in the collar and one inch in the sleeve length represents 3% shrinkage. Pants of 33 inch length will shrink up to 1 inch over time . To extend the life of your garment,  Bensingers recommends purchasing dress shirts and pants slightly larger than needed to anticipate the inevitable.Certain LEVI's can/will shrink 10%
